The daily management of the army, the situation of the soldiers’quantity and quality has become a part can not be ignored, is the assessment of combat forces an important reference factor. Currently, the military soldiers in the management of the main methods used by the file or save paper and simply using the digital form. This will inevitably lead to management of large energy inputs, low efficiency, poor management of time, repeat rate, which tends to lead to related work in a passive position. This situation and the needs of our armed forces far removed from information technology. Therefore, the design of a set of digitized soldiers management system is very practical significance.With the wide application of computer technology, the current transaction from small to large individual information systems are used database technology to maintain data integrity and consistency. Therefore, the design of troop management systems, database structures is very important. In the system design and implementation of the process, I chose the Visual Foxpro 9.0 as a development tool, the use of its various object-oriented features, in particular, the database designer simple and easy management of the intelligence database objects, and continuously improve and improved. Database design follows the software life cycle theory, is divided into six stages, namely, requirements analysis, conceptual design, logic design, physical design, database implementation and operation and maintenance of the database. Among them, the needs analysis and conceptual design independent of any DBMS system, logic design and physical design is concerned with a specific DBMS. Paper, soldiers management system mainly demand analysis database design, logic design and physical design are discussed in three stages.Thesis research, based on the needs analysis conducted on the system, the database design; under the modular principle, the system is divided into several functional modules, and separately analyzed the function modules; using structured design thinking, especially proposed system data maintenance and data query subsystem subsystem design ideas; testing and installation of the system are analyzed; using SQL SERVER as the database, the Upsizing VFP data to SQL SERVER, the establishment of the ODBC data source, the VFP database to connect to SQL SERVER, so that both the use of the original data in the database, but also to solve the access speed and data sharing issues.
