With the rapid growth of economic and the development of our society, the problem of energy shortage is gradually serious. One of important measures to solve energy and environmental issues is to exploit and use new and renewable energy. As one important part in the wind power generation system, the design、development and manufacture of the planetary accelerator is paid more attention by the designers. Particularly, with the standardization and serialization of the components of the planetary accelerator, the parametric design of components is becoming a trend. At the same time, the rapid development of the computer technology and the CAD technology provide software support for parametric design. This paper develops a parametric design system for planetary accelerator. In this paper, the researches are as followings:(1) Discusses the key technologies of the planetary accelerator, such as parametric design technology、database technology、secondary development and optimization design technology. This paper discusses and plans the system architecture and establishes the system framework based on the functional and structural analysis of the planetary accelerator.(2) Discusses the parametric design technology of the planetary accelerator. It constructs the model of planetary accelerator by the parametric modeling method of size-driven. By introducing the associated parameters and assembly constraints and using the parametric modeling method of assembly constraints, this paper solves the problem of parametric modeling of the accelerator components. Finally this paper constructs the whole three-dimensional models of the accelerator.(3) Discusses the automatically generating and adjusting of SolidWorks drawings. And this paper also discusses the secondary development of SolidWorks drawings in the parametric design system, which is important for generating enterprise drawings, which has great significance for improving the design efficiency and shortening the development cycle.(4) Discusses the assembly sequence of planetary accelerator and determination of assembly relationships between the various components of the accelerator. With the dimensions and assembly constraints added, this paper achieves automatic assembly and interference checks for the accelerator. In the region of the interference, it redesigns the parts involved to ensure no interference.Using SolidWorks as the software platform and Access as the back-end database, this paper discusses the secondary development of SolidWorks in the environment of VB and establishes a friendly interface for parametric design system of the planetary accelerator, which shows great theoretical meaning and practical value for designers.
