Design of Test Bench for FF Mechanical Transmission

Transmission is one of the most important assemblies of the vehicle, which has a direct influence on the vehicle dynamic performance economy and stability. Manual transmission still holds a large market share for its high driving efficiency and low manufacture cost, etc., especially the FF manual transmission which is used in the passenger vehicles. With the development of the automobile technologies and the improvement of people’s requirement for the vehicle, transmission testing technology has advanced.a reasonable designed transmission test-bed can measure the various transmission indicators, such as the transmission efficiency, components’ life temperature, noise, etc., providing reliable basis for the transmission design and evaluation, which can shorten the products development cycle and improve the quality of products. At present, the manual transmission test-bed has the widespread shortcomings of low automation and narrow application, and are vulnerable to human impacts.This paper are based on the enterprise project of the WUT Epower CO., ltd, striving to develop a sort of the FF mechanical transmission test-bed, which is used to complete the traditional performance tests of the manual transmission of the "QC/T568.1-2010automobile mechanical transmission assembly bench test methods", including transmission efficiency test, transmission temperature rise test, transmission assembly fatigue life test, etc.First of all, researched the existing transmission test-bed at domestic and foreign, and analyzed its advantages and disadvantages, accumulated the corresponding design experience. Then analyzed the test-bed test objects and test projects, lied the foundation for equipment selection of the test-bed. Finally, according to the analysis of the first two stages, selected various equipment of the test-bed reasonable and designed the control method. This thesis focused on the hardware system design, electrical system design and control system design of the FF mechanical transmission. In designing the hardware system, under the expected test items completed, stuck to the simple and reasonable, operating conveniently and easy to maintain principles. In designing the electrical system, safety and reliability were the final design principles. For designing the control system, chose the most widely used control method in current industry which has the advantages of rapid and reliable. In addition, designed a single PC operating software for this test-bed, with clear interface and comprehensive content.At present, this test-bed has entered the acceptance stage, and through the functional acceptance, which can accomplished the expected design all test items. The test-bed running in good condition, survey data truthful and reliable, as a result of the full automation design, greatly reduced the influence of the artificial factor.
