Chinese automobile industry has a beautiful development prospects with average growthrate7.1%per year in the next decade, which raises the demand of auto-part containers. Withlarger size of auto-part container, there are some management problems, such as high loss rateand resource idle, which influences the quality of auto-part container logistics service andindirectly increases automobile supply chain cost. One of the efficient methods is to buildup a container sharing platform on which people manage and control the containers as awhole. Due to container leasing industry being a developing stage, auto-part containermanagement is still in the self-support stage and don’t has a mature management system ofcontainer leasing business. There is lack of the research on container operation mode,business process, management information platform in both theoretical research andapplication study. The stable and efficient operation of container is significant for solving thecontainer management problem and improving the competitiveness of supply chain ofautomobile industry.For container sharing platform of automotive manufacturing, paper researched into threekey issues including logistics affair data code, container logistics network and primarybusiness processes. For the primary business processes issue, paper designed six containersharing platform key operation processes including container leasing, container transportation,container storage, container inventory management, container deliver and container return.Under Supply-Chain Operations Reference’s guidance, paper cut out eight sub-processeswhich were supply-demand synergy, inventory management, order management,warehousing/operation, transportation (deliver), receive/storage, transportation(return) andmaintenance. While the standard sub-processes were instantiated, paper also obtained theirinput, output and operation flow. Second, paper proposed a coding scheme which identifiedcontainer and noted the logistic affair information. After collecting and classifying the elements of business processes above, paper obtained six attributes which were action,timestamp, location, carrier, note, role and container and those attributes were used todescribe the primary logistics affair in container’s life cycle. Combining with RFID automaticidentification technology, Paper focused on identification code of Global Standard1andstructure rules of objective identifier and encoded the six attributes. This coding scheme madethe data transmission smooth between heterogeneous systems and help system track andmanage container transparently. According to the specific process design scheme and logisticsevent coding scheme above, this paper realized the container sharing platform managementinformation system which had primary functions like order management, transportationmanagement, client management and warehousing management and so on. In the aspect ofcontainer logistics network optimization, this paper built up a mixed integer programmingmodel based on multiple factors of cost constraints in order to minimizing container operationcost. This paper solved the model with genetic algorithm.The content of this paper was organized as follows: firstly, paper summarized the studieson container leasing and the container management modes. Paper emphasized on logisticscoding standard and reverse logistics network. To problems of container sharing platform,paper proposed a full solution to three key issues including business process design, containerlogistics event coding design and container logistics network planning. Under research onfirst two issues, this paper completed the design and realization of container sharing platformmanagement information. In considering with real requirement in auto-part market, studydesigned the container logistics network model and its algorithm which gave a satisfied result.Finally the paper reviewed and summarized the whole research process and achievements andanalyzed some points of weakness, putting forward some future research objective anddirections.
