Dump truck has a Propensity to rollover when dumping because of the badworking conditions. In this study, a dynamic simulation model of a dump truck withthe floating lifting mechanism of cylinder was established to study the dumping stabilityof lifting mechanism and the whole truck. This study is also a good attempt and researchof using CAD/CAE technology in vehicle design. In this paper, taking CATIA、SimDesigner and ADAMS software as tools, some works were did in simulationanalysis of lifting mechanism and the whole truck as follows.1. Based on3d design software CATIA, the three-dimensional entity model ofdumping mechanism was created. Through the virtual assembly the tipping institutionsinterference analysis and part design was realized.2. Based on the simulation analysis software SimDesigner, the lifting mechanismdynamic model was build. Then dynamic analysis was made for lifting mechanismperformance and finite element analysis was made for key components by flexmulti-body dynamics method.3. Through the interface software SimDesigner, the lifting mechanism dynamicmodel will established in ADAMS. By parametric design and analysis of ADAMS, thelifting mechanism was optimized and the lifting performance was improved.4. Based on the integrated modeling function of CATIA, SimDesigner andADAMS, the rigid/flex multi-body dynamics simulation model for whole dump truckwas established. In the vehicle simulation analysis, the load changes, flexible part andcontact between the tire and the road on the lifting performance influence was studied.
