The collapse of structures during earthquake has become a serious threat to the safety ofpeople’s lives and property. However, the consideration of structure performance undersevere earthquake in the Chinese Seismic Design Code is still lack of theoretical support,which may result in unacceptable collapse possibilities of some structural system duringsevere earthquake. Focusing on the collapse-resistance performance of structural systems,This paper study on different parameters of the number of spans. Their finite elementmodels are established based on the Thu.Fiber, which is developed for RC fiber model onthe platform of general finite element software MSC.MARC by Department of CivilEngineering, Tsinghua University. According to the IDA analysis,we researchcollapse-resistance performance of RC structures building on the site which seismicprecautionary criterion is7or8.And the difference of collapse-resistance performancebetween Chinese RC structures and japan`s. Based on the results of the incremental dynamicanalysis (IDA), the accuracy of capacity spectrum method and ultimate lateral load-carryingcapacity of Japan to the seismic responses of RC frame structures are analyzed andcompared.The main achievements of this dissertation are as follows:1)Based on the results of the incremental dynamic analysis,the number of spansinfluence on the probability of collapse. Chinese RC structures and japan`s. have differentcollapse-resistance performance. Get every models`probability of collapse at the seismicwave imported in different way.2)Analysis capacity spectrum curve, procedures of plastic hinge and story drifts ofChinese,Japanese frames and RC frames in the different number of spans building on thesite which seismic precautionary criterion is7or83) The accuracy of capacity spectrum method and ultimate lateral load-carrying capacityof Japan to the seismic responses of RC frame structures are analyzed and compared.
