The timber structure is the main structural style of traditional ancient buildings in china, many ancient buildings had been corrode by years wind and rain through.Wooden beams and other components appear the phenomenon of rot, infestation, cracking or fracture, it has an important social value and theoretical significance of necessary repairs and reinforcement to ancient buildings. At present, we mainly use the method of replacing the entire column, the whole beam, or pouring cement concrete to repair ancient buildings. It contrary to the principle of ancient buildings is that repairs as old as before. Appropriate materials and techniques has been an important issue facing wooden structure reinforcement.In this paper, different layers of CFRP are used to reinforce timber beams, the method that timber beams strengthened with NSM stainless steel bars is proposed, this method is to slot in the surface of timber beams, then NSM stainless steel bars, and paste CFRP, thus to reinforce the wooden structure of ancient buildings. It can keep the original parts when damaged ancient buildings lose its bearing capacity, retain the heritage value of the ancient building elements, and restore its carrying function, Also, its appearance is almost the same as original part, in line with the principle that repairs as old as before.This article mainly through the contrast of8timber beams, one is not reinforced, seven are reinforced. L2-L4analyze the strengthening effect on different layers of CFRP, L5and L6analyze the strengthening effect on stainless steel bars, L7, L8analyze the strengthening effect on CFRP hoop anchoraging. ANSYS11.0is applied to the numerical stimulation of each timber beams, By calculation, load-deflection curves、Load-stain curves and stress contour pictures of each timber beams have been created. The analysis results showed that different strengthening modes can lead to different ultimate bearing load、ductility、stiffness increase different. But it can greatly improve the performance timber beams.The timber beams which are strengthened with CFRP sheets and NSM stainless steel bars, all performances of it have been greatly improved, this method can be used and extended for the restoration of ancient buildings. It is indispensable to CFRP or stainless steel bars of an anchor in practical projects, in this study, CFRP hoop play a role for the improvement of the timber beams performance in a certain extent.Based the formula about the bearing capacity and existing theory, a formulas about the bearing capacity of the timber structural members strengthened with NSM stainless steel bars are presented in this dissertation, the comparison of the results obtained using the formulas and ANSYS, The results show that both are in good conformity。
