The " intellectualization " of residential area is the inevitable trend of socialinformatization and a comprehensive application of modern science and technology in thehousing industry. It aims at improving the residential functions, optimizing the livingenvironment and raising the quality of life. In the intelligent residential quarters, the basicplatform based on Internet of Things and the Internet which combines the existing and thepossible future construction of facilities, systems, and functions of the various resourcesprovides concentrated, unified, secure, humanization services for the owners and provides helpfor property services.. The build of basic platform breaks the previous traditional thinking Theidea of the past always separated the physical infrastructure and IT infrastructure: on the onehand is the building, while on the other hand, is a data center. However in the era of the"Internet of Things", you can achieve the trinity intelligent of equipment, information andpeople. This paper presented a wisdom design of residential quarters based on the‖Internetof things‖which has completed quite a lot of design processes, such as system requirementsanalysis, architecture design, detailed design, and system performance analysis. We also take―Hongyan Buildings‖of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications as a applicationdemonstration to achieve the following functions——the system automatically recognizescarrying identity card instead of swiping it when the owner goes into the district or residentialbuildings; the vehicles of owners can enter and get out of the community access with nobarriers instead of parking and swiping cards; managers can obtain real-time informationabout the security staffs‘work from a central server, understand their work conditionsimmediately and improve the quality and manage efficiency of residential security services;managers can understand the indoor temperature, natural gas concentration, and otherinformation in real time, if there is something abnormal, the system can alarm automatically inorder to greatly reduce the occurred chance of the residential security incidents.
