The harmonic detection is a key technology of Active Power Filter (APF), which directly determines the APF compensation efficiency. Therefore, the harmonic detection technology has become a research hotspot.Based on the description of the current trend for harmonic detection technology and development, This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of two harmonic detection algorithms based on the instantaneous reactive power theory. The simulation results of?p-?q algorithm and adaptive harmonic detection algorithm are compared. The adaptive harmonic detection algorithm is optimized. The simulation results prove that this optimization algorithm has been greatly improved, can meet the requirements of harmonic detection in APF.Based on FPGA experimental platform, an adaptive harmonic detection digital system is designed, the function and time sequence are analyzed by simulation, and the results of experiment verify the correctness of the digital system.
