Iodopropargyl carbamate derivatives have good mould resistance activity, antifungal activityand other characters. To find new organic wood preservatives with high efficiency and lowleaching rate, four products were synthesized from2-propargyl-1alcohol iodine and some kindof isocyanate through two-step reactions. Their chemical structures were characterized anddetermined with melting points, MS, and1H-NMR. The target compounds were screened forantimicrobial activity by agar-well diffusion method against white-rot fungus (Coriolusversicolor), brown-rot fungus (Gloeophyllum trabeum) and moulds (Aspergillus niger andTrichoderma viride). And then, this paper studies on them laboratory anti-mould performancelaboratory sand block test and leaching resistance evaluation, comparing with the traditionalanti-mould and preservative The contents and the primary contributions of the research aresummarized as follows:1Four products were synthesized from2-propargyl-1-alcohol, iodine and some kind ofisocyanate through two-step reactions including iodo and esterification. The compounds arestable, and there is no significant change for long time. The salient features of the abovementioned methods include a simple procedure, mild conditions and easy purification.2. The antibacterial properties of fungi of the target compounds were test through the zoneinhibition. Results show that: in the new four compounds,3-iodo-2-propynl-4-chlorophenyl-car--bamate and3-iodo-2-propynl-3,4-dichlorophenyl-carbamate have good antibacterial activityagainst white-rot fungus, brown-rot fungus and two kinds of mould. The antibacterial effect forfour kinds of bacteria of3-iodo-2-propynl-3,4-dichlorophenyl-carbamate was stronger than thatof3-iodo-2-propynl-4-chlorophenyl-carbamate, and the inhibitory effect of them are all strongerthan the IPBC while the other two products show no fungicidal activities.3Laboratory anti-mould performance was carried on to evaluate mould resistance using theconcentration of different target compounds, the results shows that: the prevention of3-iodo-2-propynl-3,4-dichlorophenyl-carbamate to Aspergillus niger is better than Trichodermaviride. It could reach the0grade in the mass concentration of0.5%to Aspergillus niger and inthe mass concentration of1.5%to Trichoderma viride. Its anti-mould performance is better thanIPBC and pentachlorophenol sodium. The prevention of3-iodo-2-propynl-4-chlorophenyl-carb--amate to Aspergillus niger is still better than Trichoderma viride. It could reach the0grade inthe mass concentration of1.5%to Aspergillus niger but could not reach0grade to Trichodermaviride. Its anti-mould performance is a little worse than pentachlorophenol sodium.4The result of laboratory sand block test show that the mass loss rate of the wood treatedby the two compounds decreases with the increase of the concentration of drug solution. The preservative effect of the two compounds are superior the IPBC, but worse than that ofTebuconazole. When the retention of3-iodo-2-propynl-4-chlorophenyl-carbamate is400g/m3, itsmass loss rate is8.7%to the white rot fungus reaching the corrosion resistance level ’. Whenthe retention of it is500g/m3, it is able to reach the corrosion resistance level ’with the massloss rate of7.4%. The corrosion resistance of3-iodo-2-propynl-3,4-dichlorophenyl-carbamatecan reach level ’to the white rot fungus and to the brown rot fungus in the retention of400g/m3,which the mass loss of them is7.9%and8.4%respectively.5The result of leaching resistance experiment show that the leaching ratio of the twocompounds were reduce with the increase of retention. The largest leaching rate of3-iodo-2-pro--pynl-4-chlorophenyl-carbamate is9.8%which is in the retention of200g/m3, while theminimum leaching rate of it is5.6%which is in the retention of500g/m3. The largest leachingrate of3-iodo-2-propynl-3,4-dichlorophenyl-carbamate is in the retention of200g/m3, and itsleaching rate is8.3%,while the minimum leaching rate of it is in the retention of500g/m3withthe leaching rate of5.6%.Their anti-leaching performances are as good as Tebuconazole andIPBC
