This study composed of the determination of nutrients,the Two-step method forthe digestion in vitro and the digestible trails in vivo, in order to investigate nutritionalevaluation of sunflower straw and plate on sheep. There basic data of sunflower strawand plate were provided for development and using.Exp.1included the Two-step techonology for the digestion in vitro and determinethe nutritional components of sunflower straw and plate, in order to investigatenutritional evaluation of sunflower straw and plate. The results showed that the drymatter, crude protein, crude ether, crude fiber, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergentfiber, crude ash, calcium and phosphorus of sunflower straw and plate were90.73%,5.72%,0.89%,30.15%,53.09%,39.40%,11.61%,0.84%,0.13%and89.63%,11.84%,2.13%,12.48%,23.51%,15.41%,14.04%,0.97%and0.29%.Thedigestibility of dry matter and organics in vitro of sunflower straw and plate were23.36%,18.23%and60.43%,61.49%.Exp.2was the digestible trails in vivo. Six gansu alpine sheep were chosen whichaverage weight of28kg, fitted with permanent rumen fistula, a3×3Latin squaredesign to this study. The experiment has three periods, each period with17days,including a10-d pretrial period by a7-d trial regular period, with the15%and30%sunflower straw and sunflower plate insteading of basic diet respectively, in order toinvestigate nutritional evaluation of sunflower straw and plate. The results showeddigestibility of dry matter, nitrogen, organic matter, neutral detergent fiber, aciddetergent fiber,calcium, phosphorus and digestive energy of sunflower straw andplate were61.61%,65.37%,34.72%,65.19%,48.18%,44.89%,29.10%,26.07%,68.28%,8.75MJ/kg and70.96%,69.57%,41.60%,76.26%,60.87%,58.60%,37.98%,44.75%,9.97MJ/kg. There were no significant differences on nutrients digestibilityand digestible energy of sunflower straw and sunflower plate within the differenttreated diets (P>0.05).
