Objectives:This dissertation analysis the research topics, papers and rewards of Xiyuan Hospital CACMS from2008to2012. The objectives of this dissertation are to investigate Xiyuan Hospital’s research conditions and future development, and further points out some reasonable suggestions.Methods:This dissertation analyzes Xiyuan Hospital’s scientific topics, paper publishing and scientific rewards basing on reliable data, econometric method and normative study, and summarizes Xiyuan Hospital’s scientific research conditions and future development trend. In addition, this dissertation uses NSFC (Natural Science Foundation of China) as a case to investigate success rate of application for research topics. The main statistical software this dissertation used is EXCEL.Results:For Xiyuan Hospital’s success rate of applicating for research topics, this dissertation finds that:Firstly, Xiyuan Hospital’s success rate of scientific research topics application and research funds increases every year. However, the research fund for each scientific topic has decreased since2009.Secondly, the majority successful topics and research funds for Xiyuan Hospital are from MOST (Ministry of Science and technology) and NSFC, and departments are focus on Foundation Department, Cardiovascular Department and Hematology Department.Thirdly, from2008to2012, the distribution of topic leaders’ages is concentrated, and the span of ages is large. The ages of topic leaders’are focus on46to60, and the titles are mainly above sub-senior.Fourthly, although the amount of NSFC topics for Xiyuan hospital increases continually, the successful rate is in U-shaped. The tender participation rate for each department increases significantly.For paper publishing of Xiyuan Hospital, this dissertation finds that:Firstly, the peak of paper publishing reaches in2010and2011, however after2010, the amount for paper publishing declines dramatically.Secondly, from2008to2012, the number of paper publishing in traditional superior departments, like Cardiovascular Department, Foundation Department and Pulmonary Department, is outstanding. Thirdly, the number of authors who have published10papers or less is dominated, accounting for92%of total papers that have published.For research rewards of Xiyuan Hospital, this dissertation finds that:Firstly, the research rewards for Xiyuan Hospital are mainly from Cardiovascular Department, Foundation Department and Hematology Department. However, the amount of rewards applying and approving is decreased every year.Secondly, from2008to2012, the rewards for Xiyuan Hospital are mainly from CACMS’s science and technology award. The rewarded topics are NSFC topics and City Beijing topics.Thirdly, the titles for leaders of topics that have been rewarded are senior.Suggestions:Based on this dissertation’s analysis, Xiyuan hospital should:(1) optimize the system for scientific research management;(2) strength the construction of informatization;(3) advocate the cooperation between different departments;(4) enhance policies stimulation, improve enthusiasm for small departments;(5) enhance the construction of research team for small departments;(6) encourage the diversification of topic applying strategies, contents of small departments;(7) support small departments for appropriate projects, and understand the trends and needs of the whole hospital;(8) concentrate the advantages of large departments and create excellent research team;(9) foster youth research talents;(10) increase the depth and width of research for large departments.
