Objective:To evaluate the effect of Chinese Medicine that can nourish kidney and invigorate blood circulation on the ovulating efficiency of anovulation infertile patients undergoing the ovulation induction by letrozole.Method:60infertile patients with ovulation failure were divided into two groups:treatment group (33patients,36cycles) and the control (27patients,31cycles). Both the two groups were treated by ovulation induction by letrozole. The treatment group was also taken Chinese medicine from the follicular phrase till the ovulation. The serum sex hormone level and serum VEGF level were measured on day of HCG, as well as the number of dominant follicles and small follicles. The endometrium thickness was measured on day of HCG and ovulation. The rate of ovulation, pregnancy, single dominant follicle cycle, occurrence of luteinized unruptured follicle (LUF), and tendency of ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome (OHSS) were observed and compared within the two groups. Results:On day of HCG, serum LH level and VEGF level in treatment group were higher than the control group, while the Progesterone level remained lower. The endometrial thickness of the treatment group was showed higher than the control on both day of HCG and day of ovulation. Rates of ovulation and pregnancy were presented higher while incidence of OHSS tendency and LUF cycle were lower in treatment group with the statistical significance (P<0.005).Conclusion:Chinese medicine might promote the anovulation infertile patients’ovulating efficiency when they were taking the ovulation induction by letrozole. The mechanism might due to the increased LH and VEGF level improve the follicle quality and the ovulation. And the OHSS incidence might be controlled since the number of small follicles was reduced. Preventing from the forward-shifting of the endometrium transplant window may contribute to the improved pregnancy rate.
