Chinese jujube, Dazao in Chinese, is the fruit of Ziziphus jujuba Mill. which is indigenous to China with a history of over4000years. It is very popular to promote health and longevity as an edible and medicinal fruit. Ziziphusjujuba Mill. is widely distributed in northern China, especially in Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Xinjiang and Gansu provinces. To date, more than700cultivars of Z.jujuba have been found in China. Interspecific differences were significant. Therefore, it is necessary to compare and evaluate the chemical composition and pharmacology activity of Chinese jujube from different geographical origin comprehensively. In addition, chemical constituents in extract and rat plasma were studied to search for the active constituents in Ziziphus jujuba Mill. Semen Persicae is a seed of Prunus persica (L.) Batsch, which belongs to Rosaceae family. Amygdalin, one of the bioactive components in Semen Persicae, is reported to cause intoxication for the free CN-degraded from it. Hence, the research of the pharmacokinetic of amygdalin is essential. In this paper, pharmacokinetic study was conducted to obtain pharmacokinetic parameters of amygadalin after oral administration of Semen Persicae extraction in rat plasma.The contents of total phenolics, flavonoids, anthocyanins, saponins, sugars, cAMP and cGMP in twenty varieties of Ziziphusjujuba Mill. were measured. Significantly differences were found. There was an important effort to compare the properties of these fruits of Zizhipus jujuba from several Chinese regions. By principal component analysis, the highest contents of chemical compositions were exhibited by Ziziphus jujuba cv. Shandongchangzao. Antioxidant activity was measured using the free radical scavenging activity (DPPH) and the reducing power. Xylene-induced ear edema was applied to compare the effects of six varieties Ziziphus jujuba Mill.on the acute inflammatory response. As the result, Ziziphus jujuba Mill.possessed good immunoregulation effects through inhibiting the delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) response induced by DNFB.The contents of oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, total sugars, total phenolics, flavones, flavonols, total saponins, cAMP and cGMP in Jinsixiaozao Oral Liquid extracted by70%ethanol and ultrapure water were investigated. A High-performance liquid chromatography-Photodiode array detector-Electrospray ionization ion-Mass spectrometry (HPLC-PDA-ESI-MSn) method was established to analyze the ethanol extract in Ziziphus jujuba Mill.and the constituents absorbed into blood. D101macroporous polystyrene resin was a good pretreatment method to obtain better separation and impurity removal effect. Twenty-two compounds were identified in the ethanol extract of Ziziphus jujuba Mill. Four parent compounds and four metabolites were detected in rat serum. In this paper, pharmacokinetic study was conducted to obtain pharmacokinetic parameters of amygadalin after oral administration of Semen Persicae extraction in rat plasma. HPLC-UV was used to determine the concentration of amygdalin in rat plasma at different time points after administration. The main pharmacokinetic parameters of amygdalin in rat were obtained based on the analysis of the plasma sample. The pharmacokinetics of amygdalin was fitted with a one-compartment model and it eliminated relative slowly in rats.In a word, the chemical composition and pharmacology activity of Chinese jujube from different geographical origin were compared and evaluated comprehensively. The active components of Chinese jujube were identified by LC-MS. Pharmacokinetic study was conducted to obtain pharmacokinetic parameters of amygadalin after oral administration of Semen Persicae extraction in rat plasma.
