In this paper, the company AVL BOOST one -dimensional thermodynamic simulation software built 4G94D gasoline model , the intake valve timing to change the impact of the external characteristics of the engine are analyzed , the results show that the installation of variable valve timing system (VVT ) is to improve low-speed torque 4G94D gasoline engine , reducing fuel consumption , cost-effective solutions . This paper 4G94D retrofit gasoline intake variable valve timing system was design to study the VVT system works and the intake VVT system cam phase control strategies. Focusing on the cam phase controller , hydraulic control solenoid valve , cylinder head layout program such as VVT oil supply passage were analyzed. And carried out through the engine bench test verification and data analysis. The first generation 4G94M prototype test results clearly show that the models installed in 4G94D intake VVT system to achieve lower fuel consumption and engine torque at low speeds the development objectives and requirements, the subsequent development of models for 4G94M and market development has laid a good foundation.
