Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a typical Bildungsroman' dissertation">Bildungsroman, which describes Huck’s growing-up in moral. This thesis will analyze Huck’s growing by the features of Bildiung. Freedom is the essential prerequisite for personal Bildung; Bildung is an infinitely reciprocal process of change which occurs between the individual and his environment; Bildung attaches importance to spiritual improvement. On the escaping way to seek for freedom, Huck gradually develops himself by communicating with "the other", learns about the world and matures in mind. The process of Huck’s growing-up embodies the features of Bildung in Bildungsroman. Moreover, this thesis will also discuss the artistic techniques, which makes Huck’s vivid growing-up stand out. This thesis aims to reach such conclusions:Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, in which the hero Huck finally chooses to run away from the society and continues seeking for freedom, is not breaking away from the Bildungsroman but a royal inheritance of the classical Bildung. The process of growing-up is open and unending, and the value of growing-up just lies in its unfinished openness and rich possibilities.
