With the development of network techniques, internet is playing a more and more important role in our life, thus online communication has become an independent science. The interactivity of online communication makes the boundary between communicator and communicate not clear any more, and general public began to take part in communication with most incredible depth ever. Among the pyrotechnic internet world, the social networking sites (SNS) are the most popular website beyond all doubts. As a result, much attention has been payed to using SNS to promote products and communicate with people by almost all industries. As the sunrise industry of21st century, International Promotion of Chinese ought to expand space for further development on SNS, and their first-line workers—volunteer Chinese teachers are responsible for this. This thesis is aimed at giving an overview on situation of volunteer teachers using SNS and offering advices on improvement. This thesis is divided into5chapters, which are:Chapter1, where the background and significance of this thesis was introduced; the progress of the study in online communication, SNS and volunteers’ use of SNS were reviewed, and some related concepts were defined, and then the research contents of the thesis were also presented.Chapter2, in which the design, detection and implement of the questionnaire were introduced.Chapter3, in which the statistic analysis of questionnaire was presented. The analysis includes basic attribute of volunteer teachers, their network environment, general internet use behavior, general SNS use behavior and needs of volunteer teachers on SNS.Chapter4, describing behavior on SNS related with International Promotion of Chinese, analyzing the communication models and giving advice on using SNS according to the research.Chapter5, a look-back of the whole research and suggestion for further research, reviewing the main content of the thesis, making a conclusion, pointing the disadvantage.According to the research, SNS is widely used among volunteer teachers, their behavior on SNS is similar to general users, while their International Promotion of Chinese related behavior is not much enough. Whatsoever, SNS has a obvious impact on volunteer teachers. Based on these results, we made some suggestion on improving use of SNS.The meaning and value of this thesis lie in that on the one hand for the first time the condition of volunteer teachers’use of SNS was presented, filling gaps in this section, on the other hand it facilitates the development of International Promotion of Chinese by giving advice on improvement of the SNS use.
