Sergey Sergeyevich Prokofiev,Russian (and Soviet) composer,was as wellas a pianist and conductor.He had a very profound influence for developmentof the20th century music.He was an outstanding representative of the20th century musician.This thesis consists of three parts,all of which are mainly aboutProkofiev’s piano suite "Romeo and Juliet".The growth process,theclassic works of different period and the style of creation of Prokofievare exist in the first part.Followed by the next part,in which composingbackground and process of the suit are illustrated vividly.And everyoneof the ten pieces is accompanied with analysis of its musical language,styleand characteristic.In terms of my learning and playing experience,I haveanalysed and elaborated on the following aspects in the last part: differentways of touching the keys in showing different tone of Symphony,and theuse of pedal,etc.. From the above the angles in-depthly experiencedistinctive creation style and rich artistic expression of Prokofiev,whichcan be more perfectly present this works.Hopefully,this paper will offer a big help to learn more about thisgreatmusician,and provide some notices and references about his composingstyle and playing techniques of his works.
