The Moderation Effect of Neurotic Personality and Rumination in Relationship between Stress and Depressive Symptoms of Adolescents’ in Different Genotypes of 5-HTTLPR

Purpose (1) test the regulatory role of the neurotic; (2) test the regulatory role redundant thinking; (3) examine whether 5-HTTLPR genotype affects the nervous regulatory role in the relationship between life events and depressive symptoms; (4) examined the 5 - HTTLPR genotype affect role of redundancy thinking in regulating the relationship of life events and depressive symptoms. Total of nine two-year follow-up study of Changsha City, Hunan Province, a school of 252 students. Four scales were used to assess the individual's depressive symptoms, life events, redundant thinking, Neuroticism: (1) stream tune Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (center for epidemiol - ogical studies depression scale, CES-D); (2 ) Life Events Questionnaire - Revised (adolescent life the events quetionnaire-, revised ALEQ-R); (3) reaction Style Questionnaire - the redundancy think subscales (Response Styles Questionnaire (RSQ-SF)-Rumination); (4) Big Five Personality Questionnaire - neurotic subscale (NEO five factor inventory-neuroticism subscale, FFI-N). every three months after the first evaluation of depressive symptoms and life events for all participants track evaluation, 8 total track (ie 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 21 months, 24 months), which lasted two years. Tracking data analysis using the multilayer linear models (hierarchical linear model, HLM). Tests finished last, venous blood 5 ml of 5-HTTLPR gene polymorphism detection using the PCR method. Results in different genotypes initial depressive symptoms, initial life events, redundant thinking, Neuroticism, tracked the symptoms of depression as well as tracking the life events were no significant differences in scores. The multilayer linear model analysis results show that: in the LL and LS genotypes under neurotic personality and redundant thinking predictor of depressive symptoms was no main effect of neuroticism and stress level of interaction was not significant (F = 1.81, p gt ; 0.05), redundant thinking and stress level interaction significant (F = 4.19, p lt; 0.05); Neuroticism and redundancy think the main effect under the SS genotype, neuroticism, and stress level interaction (F = 6.03, p lt; 0.05), redundant thinking and stress level of the interaction were significant (F = 9.34, p lt; 0.01). Conclusion 5-HTTLPR genotype can affect Neuroticism or redundant to think of the role of regulation in the relations of the stress level of depressive symptoms: the interaction of genotype LL and LS lower level of stress and nervousness predict depressive symptoms, redundant thinking interaction with the stress levels of depressive symptoms predicted; genotype SS, the level of stress and nervousness or redundant thinking interaction predictive of depressive symptoms.
