Development of the Internet has brought great convenience for the GIS development. With the Web technology as a powerful driving force, the development of GIS technology gives birth to the most exciting products– WebGIS. At the same time, SOA is becoming the hot topic in the computer software industry, known as the next milestone in software development. And it has become a software architecture trend. Through the integration with the SOA architecture technology, GIS systems can expand its application and service areas. This thesis, in which WebGIS technology and SOA architecture technology are the main research contents, focuses on a variety of key technologies used in the 3G WebMapper platform based on SOA architecture. And with the National Innovation Fund for Small Technology-based Firms project- 3D Dynamic Photo-Realistic Map Based on SOA - as an example, this thesis introduces the application of the 3G WebMapper platform. The main contents in this dissertation are summarized as follows:1. This paper introduces the basic situation of 3G WebMapper platform, and describes the SOA architecture used in the 3G WebMapper platform, clarifying the two main modules of this platform: the background data processing functions and the foreground public map services.2. In view of the pivotal position of spatial analysis in the GIS system, in this paper, we elaborate a number of spatial analysis techniques including the shortest path analysis, the best bus ride program analysis and buffer analysis technology, and implement this functions in the 3G WebMapper platform, and achieve satisfied result.3. For people growing awareness of IPR protection, this article describes how to use technology of digital watermarking to strengthen the security management of the data used in the 3G WebMapper platform, and gives the implementation of the digital watermarking embedding and extraction algorithms.4. Based on the system architecture, key technologies and algorithms discussed above, with the project of 3D Dynamic Photo-Realistic Map Based on SOA as an example, this paper describes in detail the development process of using 3G WebMapper platform based on SOA architecture and introduces the system’s main functions.
