The application of mathematics learning strategy that measures students’ability of learning mathematics is the important element affected the achievement in mathematics, which is a standard of the ability to learn mathematic. But for recent researches, it is not optimistic for the students to use mathematic learning strategies and mainly individual. Different students with different needs use different mathematic learning strategies.Prescription teaching is "first diagnosis and second remedy" teaching conception, which first analysis the diagnostic information and assess the effect variables in order to design and adjust the teaching plan and teaching goals to create a positive learning environment to arouse students’learning behavior. In this thesis the prescription teaching method applied in improving students’mathematics learning strategy, in order to achieve in learning mathematics, and different students can obtain different development.In this paper "mathematics learning strategy questionnaire" was designed for the survey of the mathematics learning strategy using by the fifth grade students in Shanghai primary school. The results showed the fifth grade students’ mastered the mathematics strategy great, up to the4levels equal B level. Moreover, there is no significant difference between male and female students in mathematics learning strategy using. But for the girls, the individual difference is slightly larger than the boys.Secondly, this paper conducted some action research, which is used to judge whether the prescription teaching is effective in improving mathematics learning strategy. The four candidates were measured by ex-test, teacher evaluation, parent feedback and other diagnostic process. Finally, the diagnosis report showed the main variables affected the use of strategies. And for every candidate, the relevant remedial plans were designed based on prescription teaching, which proved prescription teaching is useful for promoting students’ mathematics learning strategy and much more significant.Finally, this article summarizes the use of the prescription teaching to improve students’ mathematics learning strategy and gives some advice for further studies.
