"Time" is an ambiguous word that easy to cause complex emotions. Its unpredictable abstractness and mystery has been kept recalling by the intellectual since the ancient times, while the cycle of the seasons makes people confused about the arrangement of creation. There are a lot of time poems in The Whole Poetry of Tang Dynasty, sighing the flying years, lamenting the temporary life, enquiring the source of time, and wondering the passage of time and rebirth. The poet’s feeling of time is complicated and changeable which is influenced by Chinese cultural heritage and the linear thought. The cycle of Sexagenarian , Yin yang-five elements of circulation, historical rules of circulation time circulating sex infection and "Time passes like the water, always keep flow", "such as the morning dew, forgotten bitter much" etc time irreplaceable flow under the influence of linear thought of time. In these poems, there are worries about the gray hair as well as the illusion of immortality, the envy of the longevity of turtle and the rebirth of tree as well as the helplessness of the flying time. The poet is so sentimental that they forget the objectivity of time, and they want time to follow their own inclinations. Time is personified in these poems, and this distinguishes the time poems from those with the other themes. The sorrow of death, the historical philosophy and the beauty of deeper import enrich the connotation of poetry respectively and increase the readability of poetry. Meanwhile, some poets who write more time poems, have formed their unique image group of time, revealing the specific import of the poems.
