Popular science text is one of the part of the educational units of Chineselanguage teaching, relative to the other parts, it is a small section of the wholelanguage teaching, but as an important component part of human culture, popularscience text’s effect should not be ignored in the spread of scientific knowledge, inexciting interest of science and cultivating the scientific spirit of students’. In thecurrent language teaching in high school, however, popular science text teaching wasin an embarrassing situation. In many schools it is ignored, even in many places,popular science articles have no chance to come into the classroom teaching. Popularscience text teaching exists in name only. Therefore, this article will investigate thepopular science text teaching in senior middle school with an empirical analysis,analyzes the reason about the neglected phenomenon of popular science text teaching,and gives the suggestion in my personal opinion.This article is divided into four parts:The first section analyses the cause of popular science literatures that come intoChinese teaching textbooks in senior middle school, sums up the science resources forteachers and students, and discourses the value of popular science text teaching.The second part is about the statistics and analysis of the questionnaire. Authordesigns the questionnaire about the popular science text teaching for senior. Throughmultiple modules with different topics, author grasps the practical situation of thepopular science text teaching, to provide evidence for further research.The third part is about the analysis of science teaching present situation, it willanalyze from three angles, college entrance examination, language textbooks andteachers.The fourth is based on the study of the third part, making recommendations fromthree angles, examination, textbooks and teachers, to provide help for the popularscience text teaching.
