Today, educators and researchers have advocated meaningful learning which is based on thinking and understanding. It allows learners to gain the true knowledge. Teachers play an important part in learning and teaching process. And the presentations of teaching information which they provides in the classroom can help learners perceive the content, and help them understand and remember, thus contributing to their meaningful learning. However, different combinations of information presentation will give the learner distinct learning effects. Some researches have shown that, meaningful learning will occur by constructing and coordinating multiple representations about the same material.Therefore, computer animation as a new form of presentation has been more and more used in teaching field. It combines text, images, video, audio and other forms as one, it has such features as multidimensional, amalgamation and interactivity. It has unique advantages in the field of characterization of knowledge.On this background, this paper adopts the way of combing document research with action research. It based on Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning and The Cognitive Load Theory, and defined the concept of animated presentation, and explored the design process of animation presentation and summarized specific design strategies. Then the designer selects part of the IT foundation course in high school design case, provide theoretical guidance for the practice of animation presentation in IT courses in high school, thus contributing to the research work carried out smoothly.Main achievements of this paper include:1. It cleared that the concept of animation presentation in the view of theoretical point of, and has summarized the animated representation of the general design process and specific strategies, and then designed a specific animation presentation program, which is a beneficial try and a good example to relevant teachers.2. The highlight is the combination of animation presentation and mind mapping. This animation presentation which blends the structural features of mind mapping has a favor for memory.3. The research analyzes the effect of the animated characterization. The result is that animation presentation plays a short role in promoting the learning of declarative knowledge, while has a significant role in promoting the learning of procedural knowledge. And it is welcomed by the vast majority of learners, and this characterization is most suitable for the visual type, mixed type, depending on the touch-type three types of learners. All in all, animated representations can effectively improve the learners’interest in learning to stimulate learners’ intrinsic motivation, improve learning motivation and participation.The author believes that the animation presentation are worthy of promotion in the high school IT teaching and other courses (such as chemistry, physics, etc). Finally, the author hope that this study and summary can provide some references on the other subjects.
