Research on the interference effects of laser on IR imaging tracking system, whichis a significant research and has found wide applications, is an important subject inElectro-Optical Countermeasures.The jamming effects of IR imaging tracking system induced by laser are used asresearch objects. The composing, working principle and tracking modes, especiallyCentroid Tracking and correlative tracking often used in IR tracking, is introduced.From the laser jamming ways including jarnming of radiation saturation, jamming oftracking accuracy and AGC, the mechanism of the action of laser interference to IRimaging tracking system is analyzed. Based on these, the modeling and simulation workhas been carried out. From the simulation platform, the jamming effects under differentconditions are simulated and analyzed. Based on the trammitting characteristic of laserin the atmosphere and the saturation threshold provided in a literature, the energy oflaser disturbing distant IR imaging tracking system effectively is estimated.
