High Performance Network Over Coax (HINOC) is a new access technology of access network using the out-of-band channel of Community Antenna TV (CATV) coaxial cable to construct the last100meters access network. The frequency band of HINOC technology is more than750MHz in the coaxial cable channel, only by adding devices of HB(HINOC Bridge) and HM(HINOC Modem) without changing the current wire line, it can provide more than40Mbps access bandwidth and can support IPTV, VoD, VoIP, high-speed Internet access and other broadband services. The MAC protocol of HINOC is used to resolve the problem of multi-point access control on shared channel. The paper analyze the main mechanism of HINOC MAC protocol, study the signaling protocol of HINOC MAC in detail, and the flow chart of signaling protocol and the state transition diagram of admission control are designed, then the signaling protocol is implemented through C program. At last, the signaling protocol is simulated and verified by using the integrated development tool-SDL Suite of Telegical Tau. Simulation and verification results show that the signaling protocol of HINOC MAC can achieve the desired design goals. The signaling protocol can implement admission control function validly, and it also can handle the exception situations effectively.
