Research and Implementation of Indoor Positioning Technology Based on Wireless Sensor Network

Due to the increasing requirement of security and intelligence in modern society,precise positioning indoor has broad application prospects as well as good researchvalues and market requirements for its practicability and necessity. Wireless sensornetwork, a new wireless network technology, has such advantages as low cost andpower, simple network connection, and laid convenience, thus acquiring more and moreapplication in the research of indoor positioning.Researching on relative technology of positioning with wireless sensor network,the thesis offers both hardware and software platform of indoor positioning based onZigBee combing with characteristics of indoor position and technologies available. Inlaboratory corridor, indoor positioning experiment was done on the platform. Theexperiment has been divided into two step: first, an RSSI (Received Signal StrengthIndicator) ranging experiment has been made in laboratory corridor before the RSSIranging model fit current environment is built by using linear regression analysis on thedata collected from the RSSI ranging experiment; then, experimental methods has beendetermined, software developments have been made to both beacon and unknown nodes,and positioning algorithm based on RSSI ranging has been implemented.Positioning accuracy evaluation results shows that the algorithm included in thepaper has its average positioning error as2.3m which meets the requirement of mostindoor scenes. Moreover, low cost and power shows its advantage in practicalapplication of indoor positioning, thus facilitating its wide-range laid.
