General IP Design of Radar Signal Processing

As its reusability, reliability and stability, IP has been used increasingly and widelyin the field of integrated circuit. Therefore, it also has a deeper significance on radarsignal processing.Firstly, this paper does some research on standards and specifications of IP design.Especially, VSIA is the most representative. Secondly, the vital content about evaluationof IP core is discussed, including evaluation based on standards and evaluation based onEDA tools. With deep learning and understanding on Xilinx FPGA design flow, thepaper tries a simple IP design criteria on IP soft core design with VHDL, containingsynthesis, translate, map, place and route. It refers to the management and classificationof IP design documents, verification, package and integrity and so on.Based on above guidelines and specifications, the paper applies IP technology togeneral module of radar signal processing, including digital down conversion, pulsecompression, moving target indication and autocorrelation matrix. Each part containsbrief introduction of theory, design process, verification of theory, analysis onimplementation, etc. The process of implementation is mainly made up DSP48Es ofXilinx Virtex-6, which is a hard computing unit. So it can formulate rapid and stabledata process flow.Finally, it makes research on synthesis technology of the Xilinx(XST),containingHDL synthesis style of XST, design optimization of FPGA, synthesis constraint, and soon. In order to easily modify and transplant project, it also recommends the ways how touse XST synthesis script language and TCL script language in IP design.
