Simulation of Learners’ Behavior and Phenomenon of Pedestrians Evacuation Flow Based on Cellular Automata

Nowadays, the scholars in the area of education and psychology broadly study the changing patterns of learners’ behaviors under the effect of various facts. However, as many existed theories get involved with complicated interaction over internal and external facts, it’s hard to adopt quantitative method to describe the behavior orientation of a learner while he/she is in his/her learning progress. Besides, in reality, unpredictable dangerous always exist, it’s better to detect rather than to save. Therefore, the research about the law of escaping and evacuating from a building and the effect of psychology, environment etc on the people, who are under the emergency situations, has an important practical meaning. In this case, this paper, starting from the angle of complicated system, uses CA model and computer-aided language to build two kinds of CA model, which on the basis of the research on learner and pedestrian, to simulate the effect of different control parameters on people’s choice. And taking the experimental result as a basis, this paper proposes some practical-meaning-related suggestions, which as a result have a guided meaning of effective prediction of people and their chosen corresponding decisions. The paper was divided into five parts, and the work of each part is as followings:Firstly, this paper focuses on the introduction of research background, meaning, status and progress as well as research target and idea about the topic.Secondly, the paper describes CA’s principle in detail, and also introduces its development, construction, characteristics, categories and some elementary and classic CA as well as the application of CA in different areas.Thirdly, with uniformly using the basic theory of CA, education, psychology, management and organize behaviouristics etc, the paper analyzes the characteristic of learner’s value orientation of behavior. Individual behavior orientation, for a society system, is not only complicated but also a procedure of dynamic evolution. And as a regular, it is always affected by the interaction of various factors. Consequently, individual behavior orientation itself requires that it should be reflected by a mechanism of dynamic evolution. In order to analyze and understand how the internal and external environment factors affect the individual’s behavior, this paper adopts the ideal put forward in education and psychology, incorporating some certain facts such as motivation and engagement environment into CA model to simulate micro-evolutionary process of learner’s behaviors though using the micro-research method in this complex system. Through the premise simulation, we construct a functional relation, which affects the key factors of system, to research and analyze the relation’s rationality and adaptation. Furthermore, base on this, we build dynamic-evolutionary mathematic expressions step further. Researching and analyzing the principle and regular pattern of interaction over individuals, we build a simulation of learner’s behaviors based on CA after ensuring CA’s basic construction and structure.Fourthly, the psychological factors and behaviors of students during the emergent evacuation are simulated with the distance parameter as the basic judgment for evacuation direction based on Cellular Automata in the present paper. In this paper, based on the two dimensional of cellular automata, we set up a pedestrians’outflow evacuation model to simulate and analyze the evacuation process from a floor of lecture building. Meanwhile, the impacts of different exits and four different internal layouts on the evacuation time, average density are investigated. Simulation results show that the change rule of physical quantities about the influence of all kinds of exit’s width, bottleneck effect, the density of local area and distance. It put forward the scientific reference for the exits’width, the house layout, the effect friction and collision and the psychological effect of groups. The research results have certain significance guided meaning for the design of the classroom building.Fifthly, adopting CA theory and researching the behavior of student group under unconventional contingencies, with importing the conception of theory of probability, we comprehensive evaluate the evacuation distance and average density in the specific area of exit. As well taking such evaluation as a basic decision basis of direction of emergency evacuation, we simplify the complicated three-dimensional issues into the bi-dimensional issues, and finally construct a simulation model of pedestrian evacuation in teaching building which with two floors. Meanwhile, we also study the effect of location of disaster happened on evacuation time and average density. The experimental result obtained shows that the distinct locations of disaster happened truly have an effect on evacuation efficiency, and it brings us a meaningful conclusion.The simulation result obtained has proved that the research method proposed and CA model designed in this paper is reasonable effective. They can be applied in various industries to not only improve level-of-understanding and work efficiency of manager but also reduce the damage of people’s life and property. As a result, they have very good social benefits.
