In the current situation of China and the world economy, the traditional low-cost,mass production of the manufacturing sector has become increasingly unsustainablegrowth model. The globalization of product development and manufacturing, productinnovation has undoubtedly put forward higher requirements. This requires Chinesemanufacturers, especially small and medium manufacturing enterprises must speed upthe transformation of industrial structure optimization and upgrading, greatly improvingproduct R&D capability, scale of production from product innovation and quality toenhance the transformation of industrial chain from the price advantage and theadvantage of low-end products and to upgrade high-end chain.Product life-cycle management (PLM) is the digital manufacturing businesstrends, but in the digital management platform to build R&D process of "informationislands" has been plagued by many companies. This paper discusses the typicalmanufacturing enterprises build digital management platform targets R&D began themainstream PLM platform for analysis, combined with the actual situation, the finalselection of Teamcenter platform. The author based on Teamcenter platform, frombusiness process analysis and design, business process configuration, CAD interfacedevelopment, system testing four aspects, a detailed description of the PLM platformfrom conception, build, test, application process, outline the R&D, manufacturingenterprises lifecycle management platform to build process for other similar projectsthat can refer to the experience.
