Virtual Construction technology combines the advantages of a variety of disciplines, such as computer graphics technology, computer simulation technology, sensor technology, display technology, etc. Human interacts with computer are improved in Virtual design when Virtual Construction technology and CAD technology are both used in the product development process. Product can be managed by the designer. It is a natural way to express visual design concept through visual, auditory, tactile, and other feedback, and the geometry attributes, physical attributes and behavior can be perceived by the designer. In the design process, with the help of interactive equipment, the product can be built, modified, design defects, and we will get the optimal design in the end by continuous improvement.Earth pressure balance shield machine and Slurry-type Tunnel Boring Machine is researched of virtual construction technology in this paper.Firstly, design the visual simulation environment by using virtual reality software. Environmental components finished in CREATOR software will be imported into VEGA, and adjust the location of various environmental components according to the city actual environment. Model of the shield produced in CREATOR is added into the virtual environment which is manufactured by VEGA, and add special effects about driving and transport of sediment in the visual environment.Secondly, Software interface of Virtual Construction System is produced by using VC++6.0based on MFC. Add a variety of control to control movement of some components in the program, such as cutter of shield machine, segment installation machine, grouting pipe, belt conveyors. The API library of VEGA is called by using VC++6.0, and creates the virtual reality interface by opening pre-made visual simulation environment, then the virtual construction work in this interface. Also, in order to achieve real-time response function, the problem of large model of the loading speed in the program must be solved.Thirdly, in order to achieve the goal of sending data to the workstation, using embedded technology to produce MCU board and preparation of SCM procedures. It is connected through RS232serial port between51SCM and graphics workstations, when the MCU buttons are pressed the shield in the workstations will make the appropriate action after receiving the data sent by the Microcontrollers.Lastly, the Tunnel Boring Machine construction system is comprehensive by using the3D display technology.The intuitive solution and actual construction for the reality work is provided that under realistic simulation of shield law by improving and developing hardware and software of the virtual construction system. Both cultivate high-quality shield machine operators and anticipate the problems in actual construction. And preview of solutions for a variety of construction problems, stagnation significantly reduce construction time and increase efficiency of construction.
