Design of Wireless Remote Meter Reading System for Diaphragm Gas Meter

The diaphragm gas meter features to its cost-efficiency, large measurement range.However,The difficulties in wading meter has not been solved perfectly all the time.The existing two ways of reading meter generally include manual meter reading andpre-paid, waste of human resources and poor reliability of pre-paid are ubiquitous.So, this dissertation proposes a wireless remote meter reading system for the gas meter.With the rapid development of computer technologies and communicationtechnologies, It is possible to automatically gather, transfer and process of manuallymetrical data. Therefore, this paper presents a wireless remote meter reading system forthe gas meter that digitized the diaphragm gas meter, and sending the data of gas meterto the management center of gas campany through GPRS wireless network. It not onlysolved the problem of the human resource, device cost, real time, accuracy andreliability, but also grasp the production and consumption situation of gas morescientifically.The main topics in this thesis are as follows:①Diaphragm Gas Meter intelligent transformation: based on the researchs aboutthe basic structure and operation principle of gas meter, complete the reform of digitalthe mechanical counting type to make a preparation for data transmission ntelligently.②Point out the system structure of wireless remote meter reading system for gasmeter: based on the researchs about the existing automatic meter reading system and thepractical applying requirement, summarizes limitation of the ways of reading meter,according to the functional demands of the system, combined with operation principletechnological properties, the paper establish the wireless remote meter reading systemmodel;③According to the needs and cost control of the project, applied to the chips areanalyzed and selected. The system adopts STC12C5A60S2chip of STC company as themain chip, designed the digital circuit of terminal data acquisition and other externalcircuits. Also adopts SIM900A chip of SIMcom company as the communication module,and designed the digital transmission circuit for the data of terminal collected, whichrealize real-time communication and network intellectualized control betweenmanagement center and gas meter.④Design and develop the management application system of management centre, at the same time, makes a summary of system debug and analysis.Theoretical analysis and the results of experiments both indicate that the systemcan accurately measure and reliable transmit data of gas consumption, realize thewireless transmission control for the gas meter, and convenient to use, also attained thedesired purpose of project.
