Study and Implement Contract Management Based on Overseas Power Plant EPC Project Model

With the globalization processing and the trend of world flat, economyand management view has been broadened accordingly, and thecharacteristic and contract models of project are developing rapidlyrespectively. Along with China economy increasing and china playing an moreand more important role in the global economic development, Chineseenterprises are going out of China under the National strategy to participate inthe competition by doing international projects, more risk and challenge thanbenefit. First of all, EPC Contract clause and management system is studiedand analyzed by the paper. Secondly, the methodology and process of EPCContract management is built of two dimensions, of which one is the projectlife cycle and the other is the knowledge areas. Based on the process and thecontract management platform, project scope, schedule, cost, communicationand risk areas had been described in detail. Adopted the example managedby author in EPC Power Plant Project, vertified the standarziation andefficiency of EPC Contract management process in the practice.Finally, the competency building has been analyzed and studied duringthe transferring from traditional model to overseas EPC project. Transferringprocess be viewed the stepping from domestic market to competed overseasmarket, but materially is mature payoff model to the new through creating newvalue system and supply chains. More important thing is that the process willbe the trying for engineering enterprise on modern service area. It is realeffective for Chinese enterprise to implement overseas EPC projectsuccessfully.
