With the great success of application of six sigma management in USA, six sigma has been recognized as one of the successful method to improve the competence of enterprise by the world management group at present。Six sigma is not only regarded as statistical concept or process improvement tool employed by enterprise to improve the process, reduce the defective rate, Six sigma has been evolved as management strategy to enhance the competitive advantage and method of organization change。The90’s of the last century, China’s enterprises try to apply Six Sigma, Hopes to improve the quality of enterprise products or services to enhance the competitive ability of the enterprise。At present, Six Sigma has been not only is a statistic used to show the standard deviation of the meaning, it is by definition updates, deeper content. From the perspective of management, six sigma mainly have six kinds of meaning:to customers as the center, take the fact as the basis for management, process improvement as the key, with predictable management, strengthen cooperation and strive to perfect the boundless, tolerance for failure.This article introduces L enterprise is one of more than20years of production history data storage head a production data processing equipment company, the company focus on product quality, emphasize the zero, to meet customer demand, and become the world’s leading data storage products manufacturers. Long-term since, L companies have been international big company head, production of large international companies have designed products, large international companies to provide all the processing technology and services, from processing equipment, product specifications, control mode, detection method to the product sales. But, the tape machine market competition is increasingly intense. Through the description of the production process of magnetic head, reflects the L enterprise A product quality problems exist。And then, whole production processes of product A are analyzed, the R&R values and the Cpk values of the instruments and processes are measured, the failed parameters are analyzed and the capability is improved through the cause and effect charts, FMEA and Taguchi Methods.In this paper, combined with the actual situation of L enterprise, Through DMAIC (Definition, Measurement, Analysis, Improvement, Control), Effectively improving the A product process capability, so that the reject rate is reduced greatly, by improving product quality to bring good benefits. It can be seen, six sigma method for process improvement is a very effective tool.
