Research on the Optimization Strategy of Procurement of China Unicom Company

With the rapid development of China’s telecom industry, market competition is also increasing. Like other telecommunications companies, in order to enhance competitiveness, China Unicom must reduce production costs, meet customer needs. Procurement optimization is one of the ways to improve the competitiveness which can effectively reduce procurement costs, reduce production costs Therefore, the procurement management and procurement optimization of China Unicom, has important practical significance.In this paper, we discuss the following problem:In chapter I, we discuss the research about procurement optimization, and describe the methods and content framework f this paperIn chapter II, we discuss the theory and concepts of the procurement and procurement optimization, especially under the idea based on supply chain management theory and concepts. We also analysis of the issues traditional procurement model and e-procurement-the future business direction.In chapter III, we analysis the procurement status and quo of China Unicom and problem, we find that although China Unicom attaches great importance to the current procurement management, centralized purchasing model for a large number of companies to reduce procurement costs, but there are many problems hampered play the role of procurement management, like procurement department, procurement process management and supplier management. Therefor China Unicom need to further optimize the procurement to improve role of corporate purchasing management.In chapter IV, we provide e the optimization strategy, about department, processes, suppliers, and technical,which is the establishment of centralized purchasing department, to optimize procurement processes and procurement methods to optimize vendor and supplier to establish a scientific assessment and evaluation system, the establishment of specific strategies such as e-procurement platform.In chapter V, we discuss the implementation of China Unicom e-procurement and results.Final part is summary of this paper.
