Osborn checklist method is a kind of practical and feasible creative technique, whichplays an important role in the enterprise management, new product development, technicalinnovation, education and many other fields. In view of the situation that there is lack ofempirical research about it, this research combined the creative person and the creativeenvironments with the creative technique to explore the impact of group size andinteraction mode on the output of creative thinking when using Osborn checklist method increative thinking activities from the social psychology perspective and then usedquestionnaires to investigate the reason of it.This research consists of three experiments and the dependent variable is the output ofcreative thinking, which can be measured by the fluency, originality, flexibility andpersistency.The first experiment used single factor and between-subjects design, aimed to verifythe effectiveness of Osborn checklist method in creative thinking activity.The Second experiment used double factors and between-subjects design, whichexplored the impact of group size variable (3or6) and interaction mode variable(interactive groups or nominal groups) on the output of creative thinking when usingOsborn checklist method in creative thinking activities, and then used questionnaires toanalyze the process gains and process losses in different experimental treatment levels.The third experiment used a between-subjects design, which explored the impact ofdifferent interaction mode (written interactive groups, oral interactive groups or nominalgroups) on the output of creative thinking when using Osborn checklist method in creativeactivities, and then used questionnaires to analyze the process gains and process losses in different experimental treatment levels.The conclusions were as follows:1. Osborn checklist method can promote the output of creative thinking significantly.2. Group size and Interaction mode have significant impact on the output of creativethinking, and with interaction effect with each other when using the Osborn checklistmethod in creative thinking activities. The output of Group with3persons is higher thanthat of Group with6persons. When the group size is3, there is no difference in output ofcreative thinking between nominal groups and interactive groups. When the group size is6,the output of nominal groups is significantly higher than that of interactive groups’.3. The interaction mode affects the output of creative thinking when using the Osbornchecklist method in creative thinking activities. Compared to the oral interaction mode,written interaction mode reduces the influence of production blocking, evaluationapprehension and cognitive interference effectively, and then promotes the output ofcreative thinking.
