Study on Color Match and Compensation for Computer Generated Color Rainbow Hologram

Compared with traditional optical holography, Computer generated holography has numerous advantages:no optical recording platform is required, which means the cost of hologram design is reduced; the computer generated hologram can be printed out repeatedly as long as the data of hologram stores in computer; the parameters of hologram can be set freely; with the computer generated holography, both virtual object and real object can be used to design hologram. For its advantages, hologram is widely applied to exhibition of art items, anti-counterfeit trademarks, information security, industrial design as well as other fields.The study of computer-generated true color rainbow holography is of great importance for its flexibility to reconstruct with white light.The calculation data of computer generated rainbow holography comes from the standard display system. The reconstructed color image of hologram comes from diffraction and offers authentic3D effect for people’s eyes. As a color display technique, the color match and compensation of color rainbow hologram are vital to be studied.This thesis is arranged as follows:1. A brief review of holography is presented. and the principle to record hologram is also discussed.2. We firstly introduce the theory of computer generated hologram. And then, the algorithm of computer-generated rainbow hologram is detailed introduced. A numerical reconstructed method for computer generated color rainbow hologram is proposed and then experimental results are offered to prove the validity of this method.3. A brief introduction of colorimetric is presented, which is the basis of color transfer analysis, color match and compensation of computer generated rainbow holography.4. The theory of color transfer, match and compensation of computer generated rainbow holography is seriously stressed in this section. It provides theory to enhance the color quality of computer generated rainbow hologram.5. Based on the color match theory, the color differences of computer generated rainbow hologram are offered theoretically and experimentally. The three primary colors of the reconstructed image color system of computer generated rainbow holography is obtained by experiment. The color for computer generated rainbow hologram is compensated, and the reconstructed image’s color is measured. The results prove the validity of color compensation to enhance the color quality of reconstructed image. The reconstructed images of3D statue with color match and compensation are presented. And the suggestion to design computer generated rainbow hologram with color match and compensation method is concluded.
