With rapid development of the tourist industry and demand for high caliber talents in Guangdong tourist industry increased, tourism vocational education has entered the new stage of increasing the overall competence of students and improving the quality of teacher education. Due to historical reasons, specialized teachers of most secondary vocational students are not graduates of tourism. Although they both have teacher certificates and specialized certificates, they are yet not up to the standard of "Dually-qualified teachers". The said situation could not meet the requirements for specialized teachers under the present vocational education context. Therefore, the author did a study of the practice of the school-based training of "dually-qualified teachers" in Guangzhou Secondary Vocational School, with an analysis of the tourist education of secondary vocational schools, within the requirements for teacher training reform at secondary tourism vocational schools of Guangdong. Research methods include the use of questionnaire, action research, literature review, and comparative study, etc. As a result, the author tries to set up a general mode for school-based training of a "dually-qualified teacher" by autonomous learning under the informationized environment, and therefore enhance the development of teacher education of the tourist industry.
