As the contradiction between overquick development of industry and air pollution becomes more apparent, Flue Gas Desulfurization has been a priority in environmental issues. Scaling problem and secondary pollution should not be neglected, when mainly utilizing limestone gypsum method, and dealing with the high concentration and flow gas. Being a significant process in the ammonia absorption method, which has been already widely used in industry, research about oxidation of ammonium sulfite solution is necessary, which is widely used in the past research, completely depends on observation and judgments of people, leading to high random and accidental error, especially in some particular cases.In order to successfully handle the flue-gas treatment in this zinc smelter, the feasibility of the production of sulphur from sulfur dioxide was demonstrated in this research, and the sales prospect was also calculated, allowing the ammonia process to be the main method. Further study was conducted to find the appropriate test conditions of ion chromatograph and the best reaction condition for the oxidation of ammonium sulfite. Being the core equipment in the ammonium process, analysis of spray tower was also necessary. Considering that the tower has lots of manholes, based on the software of ANSYS, the research made the strength and modal analysis of the tower. A large number of manholes have no significant influences on the dynamic property, which means that the structure of the many-manhole tower can satisfy the strength requirement.
