Communication and Data Process Research of New Ship Trial System Depend on GPS

Ship trial test is an important work of ship before delivery, the experiment is mainly for ship maneuver ability and speed test, and the test results will be regard as the important basis of the owner and the shipyard to evaluate ship performance. With the rapid development of computer technology and communication technology, some of the original system is developed earlier whose operating system is not compatible now, and general Marine GPS positioning accuracy is not high enough to meet the requirements of the shipyard.This paper proposed Kalman filtering method, the true state of the ship parameters will be real-time and optimally estimated from various random disturbance, in order to improve the precision of positioning. The test results show that the system can achieve high accuracy, and is able to complete the sea trial accurately and fast. On the basis of the original system, this paper showed the further study of the ship trial system, and designed a ship trial system of four function modules:serial communication module, data storage module, kalman filtering module, information display module. A serial port communication module realizes how GPS receiving data passed to the PC, based on the serial port communication MSComm control, the system extracted GPS data sucessfully, then users can read longitude, latitude, ground and other data from the system.Data storage module uses a database to store data, through interconnection with ODBC database, intercepts data stored in a database, for data processing. Kalman filter module optimized the GPS positioning information error, achieved to improve the precision of GPS receiving data, optimized the ship trial path chart. Information display module is the key of this system, the module will make all kinds of test parameters and trajectory displayed to the users in the form of chart, using the GDI+drawing graphics, and finally achieved a good man-machine interface. The test result found out to be good. The system get high accuracy results smoothly.Finally, the paper summarized the whole development, as well as the further research direction in the future.
