Ore carrier is design and constructed for carrying ore wholly on single sea route. There was not any VLOC which had been designed and constructed in the country before2007. In order to protect the authority of carrying strategical material, a passel of VLOC was built in these years. So it is very important to predominate the key technique.The safety of the hull structure is the first due to the high density of the ore. At the same time, the light hull structure weight is also an important target for good and economical design. So it is after that how to reduce the total cost based on the safety of the structure.During the stage of design and Optimization, Rules of society and organization should be complies with, and rule check and FEM analysis have to be applied. Hull girder strength and local structure strength will be check under the permitted stress, buckling of beam, plate should be avoided, and fatigue life time should be achieved.The fruit is presented that the optimized vessels structure is very advanced comparing to existing ore carrier. And the finished nine vessels are serving very well.
