Study on Diagnosis and Risk Assessment of Transformer

Power transformer is one of the important power transmission equipments in power system. It’s in the hub in the power system, so the safety and reliability of its operation is directly related to the security of the power system. In recent years, the condition-based maintenance began gradually into the maintenance management of electric power enterprises, the targeted and scientific of maintenance greatly strengthened, however, previous maintenance decision is based on equipment status, without considering equipments’different influence to the system and the economy. Due to the complex structure of the transformer and numerous failure modes, the current condition-based maintenance is not mature enough, there is a urgent need to develop and research the maintenance technology of electrical equipment in depth.The fault diagnosis of transformer is the basis technology for the implementation of transformer condition-based maintenance. This article developed transformer fault diagnosis software in the matlab environment, practical application shows, the software developed in this paper can be effective for transformer fault diagnosis, and it has high diagnostic accuracy.Risk-based maintenance, as the next generation of reliability centered maintenance, is the development direction of modern equipment maintenance management, risk assessment is the core and foundation of risk-based maintenance, domestic and foreign experts and scholars repeatedly raised the concept of risk assessment methods. Relevant scholars establish the process and standards of fault risk assessment based on different theories. This paper presents risk assessment strategies of transformer based on Markov process and Entropy Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation, in order to realize risk assessment for sub-parts operating conditions of transformer in a region by a period of time according to the statistics. Examples show that this method works well, can provide a scientific basis for the formulation and optimization of next maintenance plan, it provides a train of thought for the transformer risk assessment which taking the historical data and economic benefits into account.
