With further development of competitive electricity market, to reduce generationcosts and improve operation economy and has become urgent priority for electricitygeneration enterprises. Currently, prominent issues for operation of domestic units isthat operating performance of the cold end system can’t, reach the original designvalue,thus seriously affecting the general output and power supply for station.Especially for domestic300MW units, shortage of cooling water, mismatch of coolingwater system, air leakage of condenser and fouling of cooling pipes.etc seriouslyaffect the unit vacuum. Therefore, reducing net coal consumption, energy savingdiagnosis and optimal operation of the cold end system become key aspects.Research of this article is upon Zhanjiang No.4unit as its subjects. For seriousdeviation from design value of condenser vacuum in summer season,throughperformance test of circulation pump, flow curve is drew to assure the necessity andfeasibility of renovation and capacity extension for circulating watersystem.Performances under various conditions of turbine backpressure as well ascondenser situation were calculated and analyzed. Through optimal operation diagramof circulating water pump for NO.4unit, the best operation method can be obtainedunder different load and different water temperature. Rising of seawater temperatureis studied after Aoliyou plant’s put into operation. Detailed analysis is executed of theinfluence for the water temperature change to vacuum and performance for unit, alsomeasures are proposed.Effects of cleanliness of the condenser to heat transfer andunit performance is also studied. Through optimization study for the cold end of No.4unit, scientific basis is provided when choosing safe, reliable and economy way inoperation, ultimately to achieve the goal of energy saving and consumption reducing.
