Research on the Competitive Strategies in the 3G Business of China Unicom

With the progress of the social economic and the innovation of the communications technology, especially the 3G (The Third Generation) times coming, it brings a big challenge to Shenyang Unicom. Shenyang Unicom as the biggest full-service integrated telecommunications operator in Shenyang, they should consider 3G services is a great opportunity, draft and implement effective competitive strategy, and build up their sustained competitive advantage during the fast developing 3G service process.The writer is now working in Shenyang Unicom and faces the intense competition environment of the present telecommunications market. Since I have several years’marketing management work experience, I feel huge pressure and responsibility. Every employees should have some responsible for the future development of the company. That is the reason why I choose the study of 3G services competitive strategy of Shenyang Unicom as my graduate project.This paper is based on strategy management and the marketing theory, using PEST, SWOT analysis instruments, analyzes the opportunities and threats that Shenyang Unicom face. Through analysis the internal advantages and disadvantages of Shenyang Unicom, develop a differentiation 3G services competitive strategy. It also discusses further the implementation phase and the strategy control. I hope this paper can help promote the competitive advantages of Shenyang Unicom, and also help to steady the development of 3G services.
