Our country is a tobacco leaf production country and tobacco leafproduction has made positive contribution to the development of national economy.However, for hundreds of years, the pick and the collection of the tobacco leaf in ourcountry is finished completely by manual work which is inefficient and difficult toensure the tobacco leaf harvested in time and decreases the quality of tobacco leafharvested. So, the mechanization and automation of tobacco harvest is urgent. Thispaper is written based on the actual needs and the software ADAMS is used toanalyze and optimize the wheel alignment parameters of tobacco harvester, thereby todetermine the optimal value of wheel alignment parameters of harvester. This topic ismainly contributed to the following study and draws the relevant conclusions:1. This topic introduces the development history and development tendency ofthe wheel alignment parameters study, the influence of wheel alignment parameterson handling stability and analyzes the influence of suspension and steering system onthe determination of wheel alignment parameters.2. This topic is based on multi-body dynamics theory and virtual prototypetechnology and simplify reasonably the tobacco harvester structure with themechanical system simulation software and establishes a whole vehicle model. And inthis paper, the unilateral wheel beating vibration table test of the front suspension ofharvester model is conducted and the sideslip quantity as the objective function,optimal design of the front suspension is carried on so as to get the good performanceof the structure of the front suspension.3. According to the demands of the international standard “GB/T6323.4-1994~GB/T6323.6-1994The Vehicle handling stability test methods”, this paper presents asimulation of the whole vehicle which includes steady state turning experiment,steering return ability experiment and steering portability experiment and analyzes theshortages of the whole vehicle model in stability from the experiment results.4. In this paper, the index parameter which is ruled in “QC/T480—1999Vehiclehandling stability Index threshold and evaluation methods” as the limit value and theyawing angular velocity overshoot volume of harvester as objective function, thekingpin inclination angle and kingpin caster angle of the harvester is optimized so asto strengthen the ability of automatic correction of harvester.Finalist, the results show that wheel alignment parameters has big influence onthe whole vehicle’s handling stability and drive safety, and the handling stability ofvehicle could be improved through reasonable optimization of wheel alignmentparameters,and suitable dynamic characteristics can be obtained.
