Study on Plant Nutrients Characteristic of Hanyuan Chinese Prickly Ash

Chinese prickly ash is a very common flavoring in Sichuan cuisine and has medicinal efficacy. In China it has a large demand and a very broad development prospect. In this paper we chose three different Chinese prickly ashes (Zhenglujiao, Dahongpao and Goujiao) in Hanyuan country as experimental material and analyzed the quality status of Chinese prickly ash, plant nutrient conditions and the relationships between all indices of soil nutrients by determining all quality indexes of seed capsules of Chinese prickly ash, mineral element contents in different parts of the plant and rhizosphere soil nutrient.Using diagnosis and recommendation integrated system (DRIS) we obtained the sequence of nutrient requirements of the plant and preliminarily put forward to the standard value of nutrient content in Chinese prickly ash leaves, which could provide technical support and theoretical basis of reasonable management methods of applying fertilizer and high quality and yield for Hanyuan zanthoxylum. The main results were as followings:(1)Zhenglujiao had a higher production and its average output in per unit area was0.63kg/m2, which was significantly higher than the other two chinese prickly ashes(Dahongpa o0.38kg/m2,Goujiao0.52kg/m2).The fruit grain and1000-grain weight of Zhenglujiao were bigger and also its peel was thicker.The content of aromatic oil was highest which was5.27%while ash content was lower which was3.14%. The three sensory indexes mostly belon ged to first grade or special grade.From comprehensive judgement we found that the produ ction and quality of Zhenglujiao were better than the other two chinese prickly ashes.(2) In all three Chinese prickly ashes the sequence of N content was leaf> seed capsule> seed> branch, the P content was seed capsule> seed> leaf> branch and the K content was seed> leaf> seed capsule> branch. The content of Ca, Mg, S, Mn and Cu was leaf> branch and the content of Fe and Zn was branch> leaf. And the sequence of mineral elements in leaf was Ca> N> K> Mg>S>P>Fe>Zn> Mn>Cu, in branch was Ca>N>K>S>P>Mg>Fe>Zn>Mn>Cu, in seed capsule was N>K>P and in seed was N>K>P.The rhizosphere soil of Chinese prickly ash in Hanyuan was slightly acid on the whole and was rich in organic matters (pH4.1-8.1), while the total K and available K were low. The content of trace elements was extremely high.(3) The nutrients in plant were significantly correlated with the nutrients in its soil. The correlations in all nutrients of leaf were as followings: Zhenglujiao:high significant positive correlation was N-Ca, P-Fe and S-Zn, significant negative correlation was Ca-Fe and high significant negative correlation was N-Mg and Fe-Mn.Dahongpao:significant positive correlation was Fe-Mn, high significant positive correlation was P-Mg, K-Fe and K-Mn and high significant negative correlation was K-Cu.Goujiao:significant positive correlation was Ca-Mn and Ca-Cu, high significant positive correlation was Ca-Mg and Mg-Cu and high significant negative correlation was K-Zn.(4)We determined the range of reference value of nutrient content in three Chinese prickly ashes which could provide support for estimating the nutritional status of zanthoxylum plant in this area. The range of normal value of nutrient in zhenglujiao leaf in Hanyuan country was N (21.274~24.249g/kg), P (1.650~2.007g/kg), K (8.714~12.068g/kg), Ca (2.200~2.515g/kg), Mg (4.489~5.670g/kg), S (2.423~4.229g/kg), Fe (156.928~225.061mg/kg), Mn (32.006~55.223mg/kg), Cu (16.265~21.251mg/kg) and Zn (57.068~70.859mg/kg). The range of normal value of nutrient in dahongpao leaf in Hanyuan country was N (21.103~24.559g/kg), P (1.817~2.216g/kg), K (10.087~13.866g/kg), Ca (2.310~2.939g/kg), Mg (4.381~5.382g/kg), S (2.432~3.364g/kg), Fe (137.672~191.734mg/kg), Mn (40.589~64.323mg/kg), Cu (14.243~19.145mg/kg) and Zn (57.184~71.087mg/kg). The range of normal value of nutrient in goujiao leaf in Hanyuan country was N (21.443~24.460g/kg), P (1.813-2.238g/kg), K (11.140-14.485g/kg), Ca (2.226~2.713g/kg), Mg (3.534~4.800g/kg), S (2.909~3.874g/kg), Fe (112.238~167.731mg/kg), Mn (42.289~67.322mg/kg), Cu (15.609~19.675mg/kg) and Zn (60.292~73.908mg/kg).(5)We determined the diagnostic parameters of DRIS in three Chinese prickly ashes and obtained the sequence of nutrient requirement. The results were as followings:Zhenglujiao low-yield group:Zn>Mn>Mg>N>P>Ca>S>K>Cu>Fe, zhenglujiao high-yield group:S>Zn>Ca>Fe>K>P>Cu>N>Mg>Mn. Dahongpao low-yield group: Mn>Mg>N>P>Ca>Cu>Fe>Zn>S>K, dahongpao high-yield group: Ca>P>Mg>N>Mn>Fe>Cu>Zn>S>K.Goujiao low-yield group: Ca>N> Fe>P>Mn>Mg>Cu>S>Zn>K, goujiao high-yield group: Ca>Fe>K>S>Zn> Mg>P>Cu>N>Mn.
