Clinical Effect Evaluation of Nd:YAG Laser to the Treatment of Wedge-shaped Defect

Objective The wedge shape defect caused by brush teeth in the wrong way and other reasons can produce dentine hypersensitivity and unbeautiful, composite resin is commonly used for filling,there can make some matters such as dental pulp allergic reaction and not easy retention,The study aimed to discuss the clinical application effect of Nd:YAG laser by comparing with erosion for providing new ideas of repair wedge-shape defect.Methods One hundred and six teeth in outpatients with wedge-shaped defect and dentine hypersensitive were randomly divided into A(53) and B(53)two groups. Wedge-shaped defects in group A were treated by laser,and in group B were treated by acid etching before a regular coat bonding agent for light, then light-cured composite resins were repaired. After three months, six months, nine months to review the degree of dentin hypersensitivity and restoration and the statistical analysis of clinical effects for each group was performed.Results Compared the improved effective rate of the sensitivity in two groups,the result of the immediate dentine sensitivity did not present statistically significant (P>0.05);after6months later,Laser group efficiency is higher than acid corrosion,the result of the comparison in improved effective rate of the sensitivity present statistically significant (P<0.05).after3months, the success rate of Laser group is higher than the acid corrosion;The result of the comparisons in the success rate of filling did not present statistically significant.after6months, the success rate of Laser group is higher than the acid corrosion,and The result of the comparisons in the success rate of filling was statistically significant.Conclusions This study confirmed Nd:YAG laser for the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity, that Nd:YAG laser can effectively treat dentine hypersensitivity; And it also comfirmed the enhancement effect of non-carious sclerotic dentin bond strength with resin, improving the success rate of filling the wedge-shaped defects with composite resin.
