BackgroundWith the development of science and technology, the space of complex environmental cause multi system damage to the astronaut body, Muscle atrophy is one of the symptoms of the representative. It not only affects the safety of astronauts completed the space activities, but also restrict the astronauts returned to earth after the re-adaptation. It is one of the aerospace medicine and rehabilitation medical problems. Domestic and foreign scholars have attached great importance to, and they have been studied by many control measures, the attempt to use the countermeasures include training, physical therapy and drug treatment and function exercise. These methods are expensive, complex, a lot of time and space occupied by the pilot, and bad effect, and the drug therapy is still in the research stage, limited efficacy, and side effects.Muscle atrophy is one of a series of body reaction appeared in human spaceflight environment. It is of comprehensive physiological multi system and multilevel, the overall adjustment is an important problem in aerospace medicine. The theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine has a very strong applicability to the aerospace medical research. In our previous studies the application of Jinkui Shenqi Pill, makes up the positive also five soup and Buzhong Yiqi Decoction of compound intervention muscle atrophy. We found that by supplementing qi and activating blood circulation, the effect of Jiawei Buzhongyiqi decoction has good effect, but compared with the blank group, is still not fully recovered. Visible, in the absence of stress situations, traditional Chinese medicine treatment alone is difficult to reach at the physiological level environment short-term muscle stimulation. So we think, in the traditional Chinese medicine intervention at the same time, the combined use of a simulation of the stress stimulus measures, namely the transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation therapy. This research will use the theory of traditional Chinese medicine TCM pathogenesis of weight loss, muscle atrophy therapy and medication, and the compound Chinese medicine combined with percutaneous electrical stimulation experiments were carried out to study the effect of using.ObjectiveChinese medicine theory reference flaccidity syndrome, TCM pathogenesis of weightlessness muscle atrophy, determine the therapy and medication, and through the experimental study of compound or/and transcutaneous electrical stimulation on the intervention effect of weightlessness muscle atrophy, in order to enrich the research on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine induced by weightlessness muscle atrophy, and weightlessness induced muscle atrophy provide better interventions.MethodsTheoretical study:The theory of traditional Chinese medicine origin to the ancient literatures and carding of flaccidity syndrome, TCM syndrome differentiation of weightlessness muscle atrophy analysis provide references; combined with Qi hoisting theory to investigate the effects of weightlessness on the pathogenesis and weightlessness muscle atrophy, and determine the therapy and medication.Experimental study:Rat tail suspension model by simulated weightlessness, soleus and gastrocnemius muscle index, cross section area of muscle fiber, muscle fiber type transformation, maximum muscle contractive tension and serum creatine kinase activity assay, evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine and percutaneous electrical stimulation of two measures only and combined use of weight loss intervention effect of muscle atrophy of simulation.ResultsTheoretical study:In weightlessness environment, the Qi, blood, body fluid balance, gas to run mad, entrails ascending gas machine function of dereliction of duty, the body appear all sorts of weightlessness induced diseases. The TCM pathogenesis of weightlessness muscle atrophy of spleen deficiency Shengqing inability, blood runs sluggish, to rise up in the air, Qi and activating blood therapy, with modified Buzhong Yiqi Decoction to prevent muscle atrophy weightlessness.Experimental study:1. Buzhongyiqi decoction or/and transcutaneous electrical stimulation effect on body weight and body mass index in rats: changes in body weight: rats after suspending weight growth slowed down, especially by electrical stimulation of the three group is more obvious. Changes of muscle index: compared with the model group, Chinese medicine intervention can improve the rat soleus muscle, gastrocnemius, vastus intermedius, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis muscle index compared with the control group; electrical stimulation, electrical stimulation can improve the rat soleus muscle index, two kinds of interventions combined use improvement of the rat soleus muscle, vastus intermedius, vastus medialis muscle index.2. Buzhongyiqi decoction or/and transcutaneous electrical stimulation of rat hanging influence muscle fiber cross-sectional area and muscle fiber type on the tail:compared with the model group, Chinese medicine intervention can increase the rat soleus and gastrocnemius muscle fiber cross-sectional area compared with the control group; electrical stimulation, single use of electrical stimulation and two interventions combined use can increase the rat soleus and gastrocnemius muscle fiber cross-sectional area, and the traditional Chinese medicine combined with electric stimulation group compared with pure electric stimulation effect is better; muscle fiber transformation results and muscle fiber cross-sectional area consistent.3. Buzhongyiqi decoction or/and transcutaneous electrical stimulation of rat soleus and gastrocnemius muscle function characteristics of tail suspended:compared with the model group, Chinese medicine intervention can significantly improve the soleus and gastrocnemius muscle function in rats compared with the control group; electrical stimulation, single electrical stimulation of intervention and two kinds of intervention the combined use of both measures can improve the rat soleus and gastrocnemius muscle function.4. Buzhongyiqi decoction or/and transcutaneous electrical stimulation effect on the tail suspended rat serum creatine kinase: compared with the blank group, model group, serum creatine kinase activity increased significantly; compared with the model group, Chinese medicine intervention on the serum creatine kinase activity decreased; electrical stimulation in three groups, compared with the blank group, serum creatine kinase activity increased significantly, and the difference between the three groups.ConclusionsTheoretical study:From the Qi theory of TCM pathogenesis of weightlessness muscle atrophy of spleen deficiency Shengqing inability, blood runs sluggish, treatment is to rise up in the air, invigorate the circulation of Qi and blood, selection of Buzhongyiqi decoction, to prevent muscle atrophy.Experimental study:Buzhongyiqi decoction can effectively resist weightlessness muscle atrophy, transcutaneous electrical stimulation also have the effect of prevention and treatment of muscle atrophy. It has not yet demonstrated enhancement effect of the combined use of the two interventions are significant effect.
