Cloisonne,which factually is fetal copper filigree enamel, is praised one of the “FourMost Beauties” of Chinese handicrafts.Since the cloisonne technics had been introduced fromArabia to China in Yuan Dynasty, there has been extraordinary achievements after itsdevelopments in Ming and Qing Dynasty.The cloisonne carving pattern is also a kind oftraditional decorative art of China, Ming and Qing Dynasty is a period of great prosperity incloisonne phylogeny, cloisonne has a good quantity and quality in this period.Its productionand manufacture reached the peak in Qing Dynasty showing the top level of fetal copperfiligree enamel technics in Chinese history. However, the research on cloisonne carvingpattern is less in academia at the same time.This article shows the classification research ondifferent cloisonne carving patterns in Ming and Qing Dynasty according to time sequenceand carving pattern types, and also shows the analysis on reasons of the changes of cloisonnecarving pattern, and preliminary study on the relationship between cloisonne characteristics,changes and the technics level, aesthetic standard in that period.This article is composed offour chapters:Chapter one, summary of cloisonne origin and concept definition by the relativedocumentation as reference; Chapter two, analysis on spread and changes of cloisonnecarving pattern in Ming and Qing Dynasty on the whole.Chapter three, starting with the typesand subjects of cloisonne carving pattern, there are much statements on characteristics ofcloisonne carving pattern accompany with the examples of classical collection in nativemuseum and abroad and lots of publishing materials as reference; Divide these two dynastiesinto six periods, those are early, medium and later periods of Ming Dynasty, also QingDynasty. According to the representative figures and patterns in different periods, statedifferent characteristics of cloisonne carving pattern; Chapter four, as the manufacture of auliccloisonne synthesizes various traditional technics, in this chapter, analyze the influence oncloisonne carving pattern made by different technics from the point of manufacturability.
