This paper sets the relatively new material as the focus to analyze in different manners.There’re five chapters in this paper. First it is introduction, where we discuss why we choose this subject and the meaning as well as aim.Second it is overall statement. In this chapter we mainly conduct the statement in three aspects: first the classification of Chinese teaching material for children, second the research of compiling them now, and third the contrast studiesof Chinese teaching material for children.In third chapter we analyze the material in different manners with a brief introduction before it. Then it is analysis of text, including that of grammar, vocabulary, games, culture, etc. We can observe three characteristics of the compilation of this material by analyzing it. They are using children literature for reference, interest-oriented in compiling the content, full of utility of compilation of the material. The setting of new words matches the standard of new YCT, with annotations of Chinese characters for pronunciation and English for explanation. The arrangement of words focuses mostly on notional words, grammar points on the program of new YCT with appropriate order. The example sentences are set reasonably, practice abundant in quantities. The increment of difficulty of practice is consistent of the demand that the difficulty of material goes up volume by volume. The type of practice is identical to that of new YCT. The quantity of games is considerable as well as quality. So they can draw interest and have great utility.Feedbacks from readers and interviews of editors are in fourth chapter. Feedbacks are mainly conclusions from readers when the author teaches them who mainly learn text, vocabulary, grammar, games and practice with the material. The author draws conclusions from the interviews of editors so we know more about the material. Chapter3and4are core of the paper.The conclusions come in fifth chapter. By making efforts above we can observe advantages and defects of the material. Suggestions are made on the basis.
